〜てから indicates that one action happens after another is completed. Unlike たら, it emphasizes the completion and sequence of events.
Sequential actions - First action must finish before the second starts
Time passed - Can indicate time elapsed since an action
After eating, I'll do homework.
Often used with time expressions: 〜てから〜年/日/時間 (it's been X years/days/hours since...)
て becomes で after ん-ending verbs
- ✅ 飲んでから (after drinking)
- ✅ 読んでから (after reading)
Different from たら — てから emphasizes sequence; たら is more conditional
It's been 3 years since I came to Japan.
After showering, I go to bed.
