-아/어 놓다 means doing something and leaving it in that state for later use. Often implies preparation or completion.

Preparation - Do in advance for future benefit

Completion and leaving - Action done, result remains

Intentional state - Deliberately left that way

I opened the door (and left it open)

Very similar to -아/어 두다. 놓다 emphasizes completion; 두다 emphasizes keeping.

놓다 contracts to 놨다 in speech

- 열어 놓았어요 → 열어 놨어요

-아/어 놓다 vs -아/어 두다

- 놓다 = done and left (completion focus)

- 두다 = keeping for later (preservation focus)

- Often interchangeable in practice

Action verbs only - Does not work with adjectives
