-(으)려면 means "if you want to" or "if you intend to" - used to give advice or state requirements for achieving something.
Giving advice - 건강하려면 운동하세요 (If you want to be healthy, exercise)
Stating requirements - 합격하려면 열심히 공부해야 해요
Conditional intention - What needs to happen to achieve a goal
Vowel stem + 려면, Consonant stem + 으려면
- 가다 → 가려면
- 먹다 → 먹으려면
Different from -면
- -면 = simple "if"
- -려면 = "if you want to/intend to"
