雖然...但是... expresses concession, meaning "although...but..." It introduces a contrast between expectation and reality.
Structure: 雖然 + Clause1，但是 + Clause2

Key difference from English:
In Chinese, you use BOTH "although" (雖然) AND "but" (但是) together. In English, you use only one.
Variations:
• 雖然...但是... (full form)
• 雖然...但... (shorter)
• 雖然...可是... (alternative for 但是)
• 雖...但... (abbreviated)
Optional 雖然:
In casual speech, 雖然 can be dropped:
• 很累，但是很開心 (Tired, but happy)
